Peggy Gou's headliner Boiler Room set in Seoul was canceled last weekend due to overcrowding.
According to the venue, the heat and sheer amount of people in the building caused a safety hazard, forcing them to cancel Gou's set.
"Boiler Room has apologized for failing to plan adequately and underestimating the crowd movement within the venue," Gou told Mixmag. In response, I have asked my team to immediately review the risk assessments for all my future shows and furthermore ensure there is a system in place to guarantee they are being adhered to." Boiler Room defended its planning process, stating that it did not oversell tickets and was told by the venue that the capacity would be suitable.
The world-famous producer and DJ is scheduling a future show in Seoul at a larger venue to accommodate her ballooning fanbase.
