K. Hart made a really nice video that shows how to make a chill R&B beat in Ableton. She starts with chords at 100 BPM and combines a felt piano with a wavetable synth to add some sustain. She pulls back the filter to make it darker and selects Analogue 5 from Arturia for a walking bass. Hart mirrors the analogue 5 bass with a sub and uses thermal to add some distortion. Her drums are accented by percussion with a lot of Raum by NI and Devious Machines Infiltrator. Lastly, she adds vocals and finishes with a bell lead from Arturia. We liked this video because it’s so instructive, and K. Hart’s result is amazing!
