News You Should Hear About ⚠️
Quincy Jones, an icon in the music and entertainment industry, died this week at the age of 91.
The iconic producer worked on iconic film scores including The Color Purple (1985) and The Getaway (1972) and alongside legendary artists Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson.
Jones grew up in the south side of Chicago, eventually becoming one of the first Black executives to thrive in Hollywood. His work on "Thriller" and orchestrating the all-star "We Are The World" track among other works earned him 28 Grammy's, 2 Academy Awards and an Emmy.
In his 2001 autobiography, the producer recalled his first moment playing piano in a recreation center after moving to Washington State with his father.
“I went up there, paused, stared, and then tinkled on it for a moment. That’s where I began to find peace. I was 11. I knew this was it for me. Forever.”
An Industry Secret They Don't Want You To Know 🤫
YouTube is a popular platform for monetization, but it can be a bit saturated, making it harder for creators to stand out. On the other hand, Kick offers a less competitive space for content creators to grow their audience. It has unique monetization opportunities that come with fewer requirements than YouTube, such as the ability to start earning through its Partner Program with a smaller following. To qualify for monetization on Kick, creators need to stream consistently, engage with their audience, and meet the platform's minimum viewer requirements, which are generally more accessible for newcomers looking to make their mark without facing as much competition.
