Studio Tool You Need ๐น
UVI Falcon 3 is a hybrid instrument that combines the best of sampling and synthesis. With an extensive range of oscillators, effects, modulators, and scripting capabilities, Falcon 3 allows producers to create complex, evolving sounds from scratch or manipulate existing samples in innovative ways. Its flexibility and depth make it a powerful tool for sound designers and producers who want to push the boundaries of their music. Check it out here!
Production Sauce ๐ต
At 343, our instructors emphasize that a good method to get a clean mix is to prevent sound frequencies from interfering with each other. It is better to isolate these sounds early in the sound design phase rather than towards the end.
John Grand, The New Division, demonstrates some great sound design tips in Ableton that help create a clean mix from the start. He uses an instrument rack to create a bass that is both super big and clean. John achieves this by isolating the fundamental frequencies with EQ while also limiting the amount of reverb by using the ADSR envelope. You should adopt this pro technique for your tracks! News You Should Hear About โ ๏ธ
"At AC55ID, itโs Bandcamp Friday every day."
AC55ID, pronounced โA C fifty-five I D,โ is a new music marketplace aimed at creating a more equitable financial model for independent electronic artists.
The Bandcamp alternative (inspired by Bandcamp Fridays, which waives all platform revenue fees for artists once a month) allows artists to retain 100% of their physical and digital earnings. At only $10/month for artists and $29/month for labels, the site's subscription-based model is one of the lowest on the market.
The platform serves not only as a streaming service for fans and artists to discover new music but also provides a complimentary fulfillment center and on-demand bio-vinyl pressing.
An Industry Secret They Don't Want You To Know ๐คซ
How do you protect your beats before uploading them online? You can register them through YouTube's Content ID! Essentially, you upload your beat to YouTube's audio detection system. If anyone uploads a video using your music, they'll receive a copyright claim. If they choose not to purchase the license, you have the option to either monetize their video or take other actions if they havenโt acquired the appropriate license.
Artists We Love ๐ค
We have previously highlighted TV Girl and George Clanton in our spotlight, now they have both released a feature album together titled, Fauxllennium, and it's fantastic! We already mentioned the outstanding Summer 2000s Baby, but Butterflies and The Sweet Life are more of our recent favorites from these two collaborating! Check it out on Spotify and Apple Music!
